In ancient Rome, thermae (from the Greek θερμός thermos, "hot") and balneae (from the Greek βαλανεῖον balaneion) were bathing facilities. Thermae usually referred to large imperial bath complexes, while balneae were small-scale, public or private facilities that existed in large numbers throughout Rome.

Ostia Antica is a large archaeological site, close to the modern town of Ostia, that is the location of the harbor city of ancient Rome, 15 miles (25 kilometers) southwest of Rome. "Ostia" (plur. of "ostium") is a derivation of "os," the Latin word for "mouth. "At the mouth of the River Tiber, Ostia was Rome's seaport, but due to silting the site now lies 3 kilometers (2 miles) from the sea.

The Trevi Fountain is a fountain in the Trevi district of Rome, designed by Italian architect Nicola Salvi and completed by Giuseppe Pannini; 26.3 meters high and 49.15 meters wide,[1] it is the largest Baroque fountain in the city and one of the most famous fountains in the world.
